[PIB] Chief of the Army Staff Gen VK Singh shared his NCC experience with the young cadets during his hour long visit to NCC Republic Day Camp in New Delhi today. Addressing the NCC Cadets Gen VK Singh recalled the days when he was a Naval Cadet in the school. He acknowledged the valuable contribution of NCC. He added that NCC groom leaders on and off the field, infusing positive attitude and team spirit through a cutting edge provided by multifarious training to young cadets. He exhorted the young Cadets to emulate the former outstanding NCC cadets who did the country proud at National and International levels. The General said that he was very confident that most NCC Cadets would join the defence forces and do a great service to the nation.
Selected group of cadets presented a smart Guard Of Honour to the Chief which was followed by a spectacular band display by the NCC Band, Kapurthala. The versatile NCC Cadets, thereafter, enthralled the Chief and the spectators with an imaginative cultural programme.

1950 Cadets, both boys and girls drawn from 17 NCC Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories of the Country, are participating in this RD Camp. The cadets will take part in a number of activities like Cultural, National Integration Awareness and Institutional Training competitions during the month long Republic Day Camp.
