CHENNAI: A 13-year-old boy, whose identity was revealed by the police as Dilshan, was felled by the bullets when he tried to trespass into the restricted army grounds near Island Grounds on Sunday afternoon.
The boy resides in the slum area close to the army cantonment. The boy suffered severe injury in the incident. The boy is reported to have been taken to the Government General Hospital.
Meanwhile, local residents staged a protest against the incident.
Chennai Fort police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
