SHIRDI: General V K Singh,the chief of the Army staff, paid obeisence in the Samadhi Mandir here on Friday afternoon. Accompanied by wife,the Army chief reached Saibaba Sansthan at around 3pm.
Recieved by Ashok Khambekar,the trustee of Shri Saibaba Sansthan, the Singhs first went to Samadhi Mandir where they spent around 10 minutes after offering the prayers. Meanwhile accompanied by Ashok Khambekar, the trustee of Shri Saibaba Sansthan and J More, the chief executive officer (CEO) Army chief and his wife went around the temple complex.
During his interaction with temple staff and Khambekar, the Army chief and his wife informed as to how they were attracted towards Saibaba.
"It was totally an unannounced visit and he was quite appriciable about the arrangements made by Sansthan for devotees visiting here. Secondly, since Khadakwasla is nearby, hence lot of officers and their families visit here," Khambekar said.
Later, Khambekar and staff of Sansthan facilitated the Army chief and his wife with Saibaba's photo, vastra and prasad.
