Listen to the remarks of Indian Navy chief, Admiral Nirmal Verma on the delays in the construction of the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier.
The Indian navy chief, Admiral Nirmal Verma said on Thursday that the first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC), the Vikrant-class carrier being built at the Cochin Shipyard, has been delayed due to problems with the gearbox and a truck carrying the generators suffering an accident.
According to him, this has had a ‘cascading’ effect on the construction process and has led to delays.
Sea trials of the warship are expected to take place by 2014.
