RAMESHWARAM: Two Tamil Nadu fishermen, who had drifted into Sri Lankan waters following adverse weather condition earlier this month, were today handed over to Coast Guard officials at the International Maritime Boundary Line.
Similarly, nine Sri Lankan fishermen, who were taken into custody by Coast Guard on charges of crossing the IMBL few weeks back, were handed over to Lankan navy officials.
According to a Coast Guard press release here, their ship took the Lankan fishermen to the IMBL and handed them to the Sri Lankan Navy.
Their fishing boats were also returned, it said. The Coast Guard also brought back the Tamil fishermen, handed over by the Lankan Navy, the release added.
